montral post for student to use in presentation

I know you’re coming or planning to come to Montreal as an international student, which is why you stumbled upon this post. This is because you are the only one who has to pay for their own expenses while studying here in Montreal. To ensure you can plan your trip accordingly, you need to get some information before you arrive in Montreal as an international student, so that you can manage accordingly. Because of that, I tittle it, In Montreal, how much does it cost to live as an international student or what are the living expenses of a foreign student in Montreal or What are the living expenses in Montreal for International Students ??

Living Cost in Montreal of international student in 2023

No one can describe to you better than I can that how much money is required to stay on a monthly basis in Montreal Due to the fact that I went through this phase as a global student. In the following paragraphs, I will provide some information to help you understand the financial requirements to live in Montreal. Let’s start with …!!

Accommodation:

The first and most significant expense is accommodation. It varies from person to person. You will spend more if you live alone than if you live with a buddy. For example, one bed room apartment in Montreal out of the downtown is around 6 to 7 hundred dollars. However, if you live with 3 friends or 4 you can lease a big apartment and split the cost into 4 parts. You will spend only 250 and 300 dollars. Just to make sure you keep in mind that Electricity, WIFI, and Heating are not covered in those costs, so just add 50 to 60 dollars.

Food/Grocery:

Honestly, if you come here after learning to cook then you will save a lot of money. Outside eating is really expensive, so if you cook at home even after student life than only 200 to 300 dollars per month for groceries are more than enough. Please note that I am providing you with this information based on one individual’s experience!

Travelling/Car Insurance:

Additionally, you will need a bus card to move from one place to another, which will cost you approximately 54 dollars. However, car insurance varies from company to company if you own a car. Let’s assume a minimum of 40 dollars and a fuel charge of around 200 dollars. As a result, the total cost will be about 250$ with a car and only 54$ with a bus card. The cost of traveling by car can be a bit high, but you’ll save time.

Phone and Data Plan:

It’s another mandatory expense that will be added into your monthly expenses if you only get data and call plans, you’ll pay roughly 55 to 60 dollars monthly, but if you get mobiles with data plans, you’ll pay approximately 100 to 120 dollars monthly.

student monthly expenses with car in montreal

Accommodation at least 350
Grocery / Food 250$
Travelling 54$ with Card || 250$ with car
Phone and data plan 60$ without phone  || 100 to 120 $ with phone
Books 0 to 50$
Total with out car and shared accommodation 750$
Total with  car and not shared accommodation 1200 to 1300$

In my estimation, you’ll need this much to stay here for a month, but when you’re here, you can set your own budget based on your preferences.
